Situated far from the city center, the park museum Vrana isn't so popular and rarely visited by tourists. It was once the primary residence of the Bulgarian royal family. The property includes a park of 950 acres, a farm of 1,000 acres and two connected buildings by forming the palace complex. The first one was built in 1904 as a two-storey hunting lodge designed by the Austrian architect Wolf. The second building - the new palace, was built between 1909 and 1912. After the abdication of Tsar Ferdinand I in 1918, the palace became property of Tsar Boris III, and after his death (August 28, 1943) property ofTsar Simeon II. The main building was bombed by the Allies during World War II, but has then been rebuilt.

Since June 8, 2013, the Vrana Park Museum is open to visitors on Saturdays and Sundays from 10am to 4pm, with an organized group with a specialist guide departing every half hour.
