The Sofia Zoo is one of the most loved and visited attractions in the Bulgaria's capital. It is part of the official list of the one hundred national tourist attractions and has the largest surface area and diversity of animal species on the Balkan Peninsula. The zoological garden in Sofia was created in 1888 by Prince Ferdinand who attracted specialists on the breeding of rare animals. Currently, the zoo has more than 1,500 exotic animals. In the zoo outside the animal cages, there are also places for relax and coffee shops for the visitors.
